Description

Substance use, including alcohol, was on the upswing prior to COVID-19. The numbers are increasing as the pandemiclingers. Some are using illicit drugs as a means of coping. The detrimental effects are not limited to the client; family systems are adversely affected as well: separation, divorce, loss of income, and health decline are but a few potential outcomes. Effective client-centered, culturally sensitive screening and assessment are critical for positive treatment outcomes.
