Description

The context of the delivery of social work practice includes many other disciplines including legal, medical, and educational professionals. Effective clinical outcomes require collaboration and coordination with other professionals. The purpose of this workshop is to examine how interprofessional collaborative practice in social work impacts clinical outcomes and professional relationships. Content will include: the identification of national best practices and models for teaching collaborative behavioral health services.  Participants will practice applying this content to client examples and develop strategies for enhancing interprofessional collaborative social work practice.

Learning Objectives

Objectives: After attending this workshop participants will be able to:

 

o     Identify core competencies of interprofessional education and how they are used to assess interprofessional practice.

o     Integrate strategies to address challenges in interprofessional practice.

o     Review opportunities for collaborative care experiences social work students are provided at UMB and consider how these educational experiences might be translated into real world practice.
