Neijma Celestine-Donnor, JD, MSW, LCSW-C is an Associate Dean at the University of Maryland Baltimore, School of Social Work. In her role, Neijma guides and supports the school's strategic initiatives and serves as a key collaborator with the Dean of the School. As a member of the Dean’s leadership team, Neijma has a strategic position responsible for promoting and enabling an inclusive environment for faculty, students, and staff while championing organizational change. She is a proud graduate of University of Maryland’s School of Social Work and University of Baltimore School of Law.

Agenda & Learning Objectives

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon the completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

1. To learn and understand key themes, language, and definitions regarding Systems of Oppression and Power
2. To learn the different levels of oppression and how they act together to reinforce oppressive ideas and policies both personally and professionally
3. To explore and understand the importance of power analysis and the different types of power to use in personal and work environments
4. To assess their organization or unit using the Anti-Racist Continuum and identify ways to disrupt oppression in personal and professional spaces
5. To learn what personal and organizational practices can help break the cycle of racism and oppression, and create a more inclusive work and learning environments

Course Interaction Requirements:

To participate in Live Interactive Webinars, you MUST have a device that allows you to view the presentation on screen and hear the instructor at all times. We do not allow participants to call-in from their phones or mobile devices and solely listen to the presentation. Participation in Live Interactive Webinars is mandatory.

Fee & Registration:

Cost is $150 and includes CE credit. Registering after September 15, 2023 will incur an additional $20 late fee. *Cancellations must be received 24 hours in advance prior to the live interactive webinar to receive a refund or a credit letter.

Category I Maryland BSWE Requirement

The Office of Continuing Professional Education at the University Of Maryland School Of Social Work is authorized by the Board of Social Work Examiners in Maryland to sponsor social work continuing education programs. This workshop qualifies for {quantity} Category I Continuing Education Units for {ethics/supervision}. The Office of Continuing Professional Education is also authorized by the Maryland Board of Psychologists and the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors to sponsor Category A continuing professional education.

ASWB Approved

Course completion requirements: To earn CE credit, social workers must log in at the scheduled time, attend the entire course, and complete the online course evaluation located in your account. After the online course evaluation is completed, you are then able to download your certificate. Partial Credit will not be given for participants who arrive late or leave early.

Unversity of Maryland School of Social Work, Office of Continuing Professional Education, provider #1611, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. UMSSW Office of CPE maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 02/11/2021 to 02/11/2024. Social workers participating in this course receive {quantity} continuing education {ethics/supervision} credits.
